    Hello,
Somebody has asked me for some advice on microscopes, but although I use them a fair bit in college, I'm useless with the technical side of things, so hopefully somebody here can help me out.

Basically there's a microscope for sale in Aldi this week for 60 euros and they want to know if it's worth it or not. It would be used for beekeeping stuff, eg analysing stuff that comes out of the hive such as bees, larvae, mites, that sort of stuff.
The microscope is like this, according to the ad:
    40x-1024x magnification
    10x/16x ocular lenses
    4x/10x/40x objective lens
    Illumination: LED lamp
And you get, among a few other bits and pieces:
    1 light pen
    1 spare LED bulb
    Storage container
    PC ocular with USB adaptor
Picture editing software and device driver
    Barlow lens up to 1.6x

There is a 3 year warranty.

And they want to know if this is worth the 60 quid.

    What do ye think?

Probably be fine. For €60 you really can't argue with it.

I'm going to get one hopefully. for €50 you can't do too badly and it has to perform. However its not got a moveable stage or anything but the again its only 50 yoyos.

The only thing is that it doesnt say if its sterio or compound. I'm assuming compound but it says about 'entomology' for which you would use compound..

I ended up getting one. Decent for the money you pay, bit ouchie on the eye strain but good if you can't afford E400 for a 'proper' one

You need to contact the manufacturer. Boards cannot provide serial numbers for copyright and licensed products.
