What's the problem? There are a couple of "specialist" around the city and they're rip-off merchants. I had an electrical problem with my M5 some time ago which the main dealers couldn't fix, charged me for their time and I was recommended to go to one of these guys for a fix, he did everything I didn't want done to the car, charged me nearly 1000 euros and didn't fix the problem. The other guy charged me about 400euros and couldn't fix the problem either. In the end an auto-electrician fixed the problem for 40euros, just goes to show what they know. If he can help I'll P.M. you his number, the guy is an absolute genius and very obliging and really knows his stuff.

Fuel tank needs replacing, as well as the charger unit for the key fob. Not big jobs, but beyond my capabilities.

Any half decent mechanic could fix your problems, they're not specific BMW problems. Denis Henderson down in the Marina commercial park would be worth a try.

How about Des Golden up in the industrial estate behind the driving test center i went to him a few weeks back to get some stuff done, was a bit costly but he seemed fair enough

The west part of the city. Towards Ballincollig.

I attempted to use him twice and found him unresponsive.

I'd say he's magic but 3 weeks lead time to look at my jangling suspension was apathetic, I thought. Car could have fallen apart by then for all I knew. Normally, with a safety issue, they'd look, just to make sure there's no immediate danger.

I've seen some incredible machines at Brian Powell in Pouladuff.

Steve Murphy Motors, (Ex BMW mechanic) Can be difficult to book in as he's busy most of the time, and to be honest, his prices are starting to climb, but cheaper than main dealer.
