Job interview

Ok, before I get a warning off any mods etc - the search function was fooked (I did try).

I have a Debenhams interview on Thursday - and looking for some input / tips for it, from others who have had one there or in similar stores.

    It's a part-time mens-wear position.
What are the usual general questions at interviews like this?

This is my first serious job interview - I've been working for a few years in weekend / summer jobs - but never really needed an interview as such.

Just dropped in a CV or safepass and the job was mine.
(building site, bar work, with electricians and plasterers).

I don't know what specific questions they'll ask, but I would imagine their priority will be this -

    Is he well dressed?
    Does he look smart?
    Is he interested in fashion?
Will we be able to trust him? Will he turn up on time? Will he be reliable?
Does he want to stay here longer than a few weeks / months?
    Has he any sales experience?

Mentally go through "selling a suit" in your head, as they might ask you to sell them something.

Make sure you look perfect, be very polite, and show some interest in what they sell / their company.

Walk into the shop, and walk around. Get familiar with the shop, and see who does what. Also ask a few questions to one of the shelf stacker's about anything that catches your eye.

Also look up a brief history of the store(the brand), and the shop(the location), so you'll know something about it.

Also, when looking around, note any "designs" or trends. You may stand a chance of getting the job if you seem to know something other than "you sell clothes"...
