I am doing a final year project which will involve flash and a forum where users can upload pictures. The site will connect to a database as well. Was wondering what peoples thoughts are on whether PHP or JSP with servlets would be better to use?

It depends. JSP tends to be harder to set up I find, but without knowing what languages you know or the scope, it's hard to tell. JSP requires tomcat though.

It should be handy enough in php.
