See that the TV rights for the GAA is up this week and RTE, TV3, TG4 and Setanta sports are bidding for them. Think the rights for the Qualifiers and the Sunday Game are being sold separately. Hope one of the terrestrial channels get it.

The only non terrestrial channel is Setanta but I reckon it and RTE have the best chance of getting it. I'd put my money on Setanta

I think losing the GAA to Setanta (or anyone else) would be a massive blow for RTÉ. I'd imagine it to be a big money spinner, adverts wise.

I think RTÉ and Setanta will both share the rights.

RTE deserve to lose the whole rights, lock stock and barrell. Their coverage is pathetic, cliched garbage (Pat Spillane chairing the hurling coverage?FFS).
However the GAA will not risk public outrage by giving the rights to Setanta and will divide them between the two.

Ah I like Michael Lyster, Marty Morrissey and Ger Canning though, their voices pretty much symbolise GAA over the past 15 years or so. Would be a shame for RTE to lose it in my opinion.

Lyster is OK, at least he seems like he has a genuine interest in GAA. Canning is an upper-class twit for whom commentating is just a job.
You won't find him on a wet Friday night in Donoughmore watching a Junior B game that's for sure.
Morrissey is a GAA fan at heart but is just a terrible commentator.
Darragh Moloney is good but tends to drift into Premiership-speak too often.
