Media Centre not playing Divx files

I'm running windows MCE 2005.

Everything was working fine until one day, I lost the ability to watch DIVX files through media centre.
Thing is that windows media player will play them when i am not running media centre, it's only when I launch media centre and try to watch them through media centre that I have difficulty, it just cycles through start and restart of the file.

I was thinking that it is some kind of codec issue, I have the standard divx player loaded and I installed the K-lite pack and everything was working fine (i let the K lite installation remove all the old packs etc)

then about one month ago it all stopped working.

Anyone got any ideas please.

get rid of the codec pack and all other codecs from your machine.
then manaully install the ones you need.

codec packs almost always cause problems

Personally speaking, I only have ffdshow installed on my pc for play back of movie files.

I use it on Vista, XP and W2k without problems.

thanks lads, i have it going now.

I uninstalled the K Lite pack, then reinstalled it (it puts fddshow on during its installation) and everything worked fine.
