I told him no and he lurks here 6 max $.50/1

    over 8500 he is 39.93/100 vpip 53.56 pfr 36.67 af 2.48

I have seen the stats and while I'm no expert on it I told him that there's no way he can sustain them, he wants to know why

Sample size to small to determine.

Ssssshhh, you're gonna jinx him. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Most winning players have VPIPs below 35, it would be rare to see them above 30. Since he's raising over half his hands he's at least being aggressive.

He must have a very solid postflop game to be making money playing this loose, being able to adapt to how your opponents view you would be a big part of this imo.

He's probably running hot as well though.

Is that 39.93 ptBBs per 100 hands?
I'm fairly sure that not sustainable anyway.

I'd class anything over about 35/25 as maniac loose. Maybe he's not being 3-bet much pre-flop so far - but he will be!

A few huge hands in your favour could do this to you.

I had a friend who said he was 24BB/100
I didn't believe him and asked to see, after when I looked at hand summary the BB/100 appeared higher than it should of been. It took me a sec to figure it out but when he first got PT he checked the "use bigblind amount as BB" box, and had since forgot about.

VPIP of 53% = going broke very quickly

I just checked my datamined hands on players with over 10k hands.

95% of winners have stats between 13/6 and 20/12. Of the 5% that seem to be winning with high stats, the highest is 33/18

Most of the losers have high VPIP and moderately high PFR. The losers stats widely vary.

    All 6-max

That's a helluva lot of mined hands  Is your PT database running ok with that many hands in it? The range of winners stats you got there is a little lower vpip and pfr than I would have thought. Hmm interesting though.

Off topic but ....This is interesting... I also have a huge database from mining.. I regularly have 5k to 10 k hands on a lot of players at my tables.... I posted recently about it.. since I upgraded to postgreSQL my computer has been having a heart attack when PT imports.....

I've had it running for the last 2 months, 24hrs a day:) The above is filtered on 1/2. It can take a while to pull up some info, but it's working ok surprisingly. The import is starting to get slow and buggy though..

I have the same issue. It was working fine, but as PT was starting to go a bit slow I decided to switch to postgre. It did run a bit better, but I've had problems importing...all sql errors. Sometimes it goes into a loop where I have to click Ok every 100 or so hands (tedious when I have not imported in a few days)... but other times is just crashes.

    classic,
TBH i dont know how he has that 39/100 winrate with a 53% Vpip over 8.5K hands.
even thouh the sample is small this still sounds very strange to me.
any one else feel that's very strange ?

Below 10k hands anyone could win playing any type of stats (maybe not 0/0) if they ran well

its honestly not me and the stats exist I have seen them. I have been dipping my toes in the ring games over the last 2/3 weeks but im a soon to be improved on 27/14/2 for 3.5/100 over 10k hands I was 15/100 over 5k and starting to think it was going to be easy.

also Valors witty answer is standard
