Dusk falls

So I was out last at dusk staking out the fox's den, when the horse's came over to me again. I think these few photo's are a bit unusual for me, they're more about tone and light than getting a really sharp image, btw I've had some issues with viewing them on a laptop screen, it tends to "black" out when there is more detail in the photo.
My favorite is number 1, but I think it might be a problem getting it printed.

So have I gone too dark ? or not dark enough ? any suggestions ?
    Thanks

Wonderful shots. They have the atmosphere of that moment.
I really like the tonality you've used, so no changes needed. I like also reduced amount of colours.
Only suggestion I could have would be a little crop of the third one - the horse is a little too much in the middle, so cutting top and right part could make some difference.
It really was wonderful dusk yestarday. I am happy you had captured it so well.

I click on this thinking "duck falls", that must be an interesting photo lol

Anyway... I really like the tones of the third shot in the reeds, the 1st and 4th with the bright sky, I think they are probably too dark

Luckily shot 3 was a "photomerge", 2 photo's blended in together, they're both the same shot but his head was raised in the second one and I had added a bit more space to the right, so I have a good bit of maneuvering room for a crop. I decided to shift the shot to the right, stopping at the top of his hind legs, kinda gives a bit more "flow" to the horse.

I think it works better with the Crop A myself.
