I've just came back from Cork and there is a lot of fog and mist patches all the way from Mitchelstown to Dublin. But the thickness is maximaly 100 meters.
So if you are able to wake up early to get to the top of some hill or mountain, to capture red/golden rays of morning sun colouring those seas of mist in all lovely land curves, please, do so. I am tired and I am not good in landscapes.
Please, share some pictures, because it looks that it is going to be the most beautiful morning tomorrow. Well, today.

I looked out the window at 5am (Sunday) and could see the moon and stars. Great, I figured, I'll be able to get some nice sunrise shots over East Cork. So, I got up at 6am and set forth. It suddenly dawned (sorry) on me that all I could see in the sky was an impenetrable darkness - no sign of moon or stars. The sky was cloudy and that's the way it remained. I drove around for awhile but the camera gear stayed in the bag as there was nothing worth photographing in the dull grey light of a boring dawn. Oh well, you can't win 'em all. Like fishermen returning home without a catch we photographers will often come back without shooting anything worthwhile or indeed, as in my case this morning, anything at all.

I woke up at 0650 & it was pitch dark!
Still foggy now, but I might get something, now that the sun has burned off some of the fog.

    Mornin'
Sorry for that message, but it really looked like perfect moment for lovely morning. It had to turn into more dense fog. Maybe next time. However evening was georgous - the mist started to spread into the countryside slowly... And I didn't have tripod. So there were only two shots. 70mm, Aperture 4 and time 1/15. So I really don't know what's on the film.

The IFSC is Dublin this morning at 6am was THICK with fog. You couldn't see 10 meters in front of you. I didn't realise how widespread the weather was!

Hey City-Exile. I really like 2nd photo and the 4th one..... v.good. Do you think you could bring out more detail on the edges in the second one. The fourth could be cropped to protrait mode. Would suit much better.

    My 2 cents worth.

I was up and out at 07:00 this morning hoping to get the sunrise over this pond I've seen on my way home after nightshift, but I couldn't even see the pond because of the fog. I drove around Naas instead and got this near the racecourse.

so true...also the main road thru Carlow can be deadly for dense fog.

Most roads are deadly in dense fog.
Especially the way people drive in this country.
Make sure you switch off your fog lights when it clears though.

Anyway, was there any other boardies up in the Phoenix Park yesterday morning? The place was crawling with snappers!
