    Hello everybody.

To honour the fire fighters who died serving their community in Bray, Co Wicklow on September 26th 2007, we’ve set up an online petition to have the Fire and Emergency Service upgraded from a retained service to a full time service. Please follow the link below and sign our petition.

Please don’t hesitate to forward the link to anyone and everyone that you think might be prepared to sign it.

I don't mean to be offensive, I do indeed feel sorrow for the family of these two men who died at work.

However I feel this 'in honour' statement to be a completely seperate issue and the use of these men to promote your issue as completely cheesy and in a sense very commercial.
Hundreds of people have protested in Bray, Co Wicklow, demanding a full-time fire service in the north of the county.

Last month, part-time fire fighters, Mark O'Shaugnessy and Brian Murray, died fighting a fire at a disused factory in Bray.

Their families believe delays caused by the lack of a full time fire service contributed to the tragedy.

The family may indeed be correct in thinking that more numbers may have brought the fire under control a lot quicker and saved these Joe Soaps from such an unfortunate fate but also would it be good to have such workers trained more appropriately to be able to anticipate such an incident?

Seperately, does anyone know how this fire occurred?
