What was that on the news about the woman that didnt know who she was and walked into a garda sation with a chuwawa. All the news readers are laughing as they read that part. Could that really happen that you woudlnt know who you were just like that - not having been in an accident etc ? How can she remeber that she can speak a second language but she doesnt know who she is ? How did she know to go to a garda station ? How intriging ?

Here is a link to the story that you are talking about - RTE
Gardaí at Store Street are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman who presented herself at the station on Sunday morning.

The woman came into the station at 9am on 30 September and is not aware of who she is or of any personal details about herself.

She was not in possession of any identification.

She is described as being in her mid-30's, 5' 9'' tall, of slim build, with brown, collar-length hair.

She has hazel coloured eyes and speaks with an American or Canadian accent. She is also able to speak French.

She has three tattoos on her body, two of Arabic style writing on her left, upper arm and back of her neck.

The third tattoo is a celtic-type design on the back of one of her legs.

She was wearing a black skirt and top with a black trench coat, leopard skin shoes and a multi coloured head scarf.

She was carrying a chihuahua dog.

    Wonder what happened alright...very odd!

    American or Canadian accent
Get her to say Aboot or Hoose, they'll soon clear that up.

Also, if she says 'eh' at the end of every sentence that would be a giveaway too.

A Garda spokesman said: "This woman is not aware of who she is or of any personal details about herself. She is not in possession of any identification."

Well, if she doesn't know, she's kind of f**ked. Unless she's good looking. Then she's someones "wife"...:D She just doesn't know it yet ;)

Who says she wasn't in an accident? Maybe it's as a result of shock.

My personal favourite is Foreign accent syndrome.

There's a documentary called 'Unnown White Male' about a guy which the same thing happened to. He woke up one morning on a train not knowing who he was or how he got there, he couldn't recognise his family or friends but he still remembered how to do normal daily things, names of places etc. It's a form of amnesia.
