    Hi everyone!

To make a long stort short:

Im from Sweden, been living in Dublin for almost a year now, didn't bring my golf set with me, and my golf abstinence is killing me! So now im looking for some place cheap, easy to reach (along the dart would be perfect, because I live 10 mins away from Connolly), and where you can rent golf sets without being a member of the club.

Im nowhere close a golf pro (32 hcp), so im not that picky in terms of the quality of the fairway, green etc. - just want a nice place where me & my friends can enjoy the simple pleasure of playing some golf. :)

    So, any suggestions? :)

    Thanks!

ps. Im a left hander, so they need to rent golf clubs for lefties.

Deer Park in howth would probably suit you perfectly.
It rents clubs out, it's a public course, relatively cheap, only minor hassle could be the walk up the hill (15-20min) from howth dart station, and it really does have some fantastic views of the bay.

You might find it hard to get a left hand set to hire out you might be better off buying your own.
As far as i know Deer park is your best bet
    Good luck

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick answers. I will definitely look into Dear Park, and if someone knows another place that would suit my needs, don't hesitate to tell me :)

    South soiders rule!

Woodbrook is on the DART, but I'm not sure which station is closest. You could probably walk to Elm Park from the DART about 20 mins. DART also goes to Greystones, could walk to Greystones or Charlesland. And also there's commuter trains to Kilcoole, but I honestly don't know how close Kilcoole GC is to the train station.

If you could get the 46A (from O'Connell st would be handy if you live by Connelly) you could go to Elm Park or Foxrock GC.

Actually your best bet might the getting the LUAS to Windy Arbour, and from there Milltown GC is only a 5 min walk.

I think you'd get an interesting reaction in some of those golf clubs if you rocked up the driveway off the DART or the 46A looking to hire a set of clubs!! :D

    Karlfilip,

It's fairly expensive, but Malahide is very close to the train station. They hire clubs (pretty good ones too!) and there's 27 holes so you'll get a game no probs. Failing that there are quite a few courses up that way that overly far from trainline. don't think the dart goes out there, but the commuter trains do and are fairly regular. Just another option for you.

Note: I'm not a member and have no connection to the club. Indeed, i've never even played it. Looks good though!

Skerries is another option not sure how far away the course is from the train station. Just one thing if you are going to deer park it is a long walk up hill so it might be any idea to get a taxi. Google earth is your way forward.

    Good luck

Old Bray is basic and cheap 9hole , but will do for what you seem to want . 10 mins from Dart , but club hire might be an issue. 01-2745274
