    Hey,

I am hoping someone can help me with a problem Im having. My girlfriend bought me a SNES recently and some games, It seems like its an american one as it looks different to my old one and has purple switches on it rather than the old grey ones. Am I right is it American?

Anyway, the plug with it didnt fit into the back of the machine. I emailed the supplier and told them this so they have sent me a different plug which also seems to not fit. Am I missing something? Where in the back of the console should it go? is it the small little space with two prongs?

    Im confused....... any ideas? Thanks.......

Which plug are you talking about? There are 3 connectors on the back of the SNES, one is a DC-type plug for power, which is round with a pin in the middle. One is the RF out which has a connector like any A/V connector, round with a metal outer surface and a hole in the middle to accept a pin. The third is the A/V connector which is flat, has some bevelled corners and a rectangular groove on one side to allow it to be inserted only one way.

I must have a weird one then because on the machine the hole for the plug is small round with two holes to accept pins, would it be japanese or something?

The Japanese SNES is the exact same design as the PAL, just using NTSC hardware.

Have you got pics of the machine / back-of-machine?

Edit: did you by chance buy an FC Twin? (Pics here)

Is it the RF you are thinking of?
Unless imports are your bag its pointless having a US Snes anyway, plus it didn't look as nice as the Euro/Jap one, get a modded Jaq one and play everything on it, get an RGB scart too.
At least you'll be able to play Starfox at full speed!
