I've seen two chron'ed, one was pretty much new. It came in at .9 joules and the other was well under. Thats still no guarantee that yours will be under but its likely.

The highest I've seen a JG G36 chrono at is 369 fps, the lowest I've seen is 316 fps. The spread is to big to be sure although a lot of people getting them recently have been reporting lower fps then when it first came out. JG might be putting a weaker spring in now but I doubt it.

Clones = All over the place. People got 350 with the ump, i get a consistant 327, 329 new BUT that is within the .03J tolerence:)

but it was Under the legal limit. between 316-320 I am guessing.

Average 324, I think you mentioned to me :)

I remember because I asked you to let me know, as it was one of my first sales and I was wondering about it.

Just like to point out that discussion of aegs greater than 1J is against the forum charter, and ownership of one is against the law, if you are ordering any airsoft equipment, always ensure it is under 1J, and if you somehow end up with one that is over this, it must be downgraded immediately or destroyed

There is no 0.03j tolerance under Irish law. It shoots over the 1joule muzzle energy limit it is illegal.

see ... there are issues when they are specific too.

It's like speeding really. 81kph in a 80kph zone is still speeding, but the guards probably won't bother you... unless they're in a foul mood. Of course if you're caught doing 81kph you only get two penalty points and a fine. If you're caught with a 1.03J AEG you could potentially face a charge of possesion of a fully automatic firearm. Why risk it for a few extra feet of range?

Mine was chrono'd at HRTA last week and it was below the limit

It does state too "under" a joule. one has to wonder
if you got an AEG fireing at 1 joule then its not "under" a joule
but its not over a joule either

Dont think anyone in their right mind would get as petty about
something like that but who knows...its posssible.

There's always lee way in the law.

The point is that there is no mention of any tolerances, Lethal_Bullets comment implied that there was some kind of official policy. There maybe something like that in England (hence the +10% we sometimes see) but the same is NOT applicable here.

Basically before you order it find out what its shooting at if its over a Joule downgrade it to a joule and if its under well then your all set.

And no there is no rule saying there is a .3 of a joule tolerance if you look at the law it says a joule. Predator have a 10% over a joule tolerance but im not sure if thats exactly legal. I'm sure one of the lads in predator can shed some light on that one. Lethal_bullet you gotta stop believing everything you hear and actually listen to people who know whats what.

sorry to say, but there is a tolerance with the law on this because the chrono
has a -5% or +5%, the spring power can go up or down with the temp: all this has to be taken in to a count under the law or they would not have a good case for a court, and yes i do have the tolerance % ,and no i can not put it up here, so remeber when fitting new springs,to stay under 328 because the chrono could be out on the day you tested your gun,or the hop unit was turned up, so keep it legal, and we will get to keep it.

nonex: agreed, there has to be a bit of leeway in it as testing equipment can be inaccurate or alot of other factors can affect things such as temperature etc.. as you said, however the law clearly states under 1 Joule, and as regards the rules on this forum, we'll be sticking with 1 Joule

    just to clarify for everyone

Regardless of what you hear/read/think the rule for this forum is 1 Joule, there is no 5/10% tolerance on this, discussion of anything over this will earn you a ban.
