i got a virus on my laptop that i need help removing, basically any time i go on the internet my laptop goes extremely slow, even if i am not browsing the web the laptop is slow, i have to restart the laptop and disconnect the internet for the laptop to be useable but once i plug in the internet again it slows down. I then purchased norton internet security and tryed to install but the virus stopped it from being installed. i then booted the laptop from cd to do the emergency virus removal facilty on the cd but that picked up nothing, what do i do next?
    Any help appreciated

Waste of money buying Norton, that alone will slow down your machine. :/ Try downloading avast! (free edition) and running a viruscan in Safe Mode, see if it brings up anything.

If it wasn't obtained legally, don't bother mentioning where you got it or how, because it could lead to a ban ;)

And no matter how much you paid for it, it still isn't as good as a free anti virus such as Avast! or AVG free

Just how long do you wish to evaluate your copy of Windows, Sir? :)

OP, try running Windows in Safe Mode first and try running the scan then, if you haven't already. Also no harm running a scan using AVG Anti-Spyware and Spybot-Search and Destroy as well.
