Hey guys, My computer has been giving me alot of trouble recently, first the graphics card died, then the chipset fan died, replaced these and the new gcard wouldnt work.. still havent resolved that, see here

Anyway resinstalled xp the other day as I do every few months and everything was fine..
    Then came last night,
Was using computer away, nothing intensive, just web browsing. Machine Locked up completely, no keyboard/mouse action at all, not able to use ctrl-alt-del, reset machine using reset key and restarted to blank screen, no startup beep. Powered off machine completely and turned back on, worked fine for about 10mins and locked up again.. So at this stage Im thinking overheating, but no, All my temps were fine.. next time I restarted it started freezing on the windows loading bar then just went blank.. I thought maybe my hd was gone, so I left it for a while and went back to it, installed some s.m.a.r.t monitoring software and I was getting a fail on one of the readings (temp diff from 100) but it was only reading 38degrees, and I dont see how the drive could overheat sitting right in front of a 120mm fan..

It froze again shortly after that.. restarted a few times more etc, same thing.
At one stage it actually froze on post, where it told me system was in safe mode, press f1 to continue.. later on I went into bios setup and it was freezing in the bios menus too.. oh, and the power led is no longer functioning...
Booting without any hds connected I managed to boot up winternals erd commander at one stage but very slow..

Just now I connected up my os drive and tried to boot, got a bsod straight away, and this is actually my first ever bsod on this machine..

    Machine_Check_Exception ..

Im kind of thinking its either my hd or motherboard or maybe both..
    Just want a second opinion..

My god im having some major problems with my pc.. Its really weird..
Anyway, thanks for any help guys.. and Im really tempted to upgrade.. those sub600 eur machines on ankermann are looking pretty nice right now ;), even though I wont have much time this year /6th year..

    Amd 64 3700+ skt939
    Epox ep-9npa+
    1gb corsair ddr
    250gig,320gig hd's
crappy old pci gcard (see other thread)

    Thanks for any help guys..
    ab

tl;dr: Computer freezing, now getting bsod Machine_Check_Exception, need second opinion, bad motherboard or bad hd?

OK.. now the machine wont even post, I turn it on, no beeps at all, The motherboard diag screen just reads a straight "FF" ..it dosent even go through the motions of detecting ide drives etc with different codes..
