its back ordered. how long will it take for them to re-stock

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

Nice one, I've already got a huge backlog of games, so don't mind waiting a little while longer for it...
Play-asia are normally good at getting stock, i'd estimate that it'll be in stock again by the weekend.

Aye, my copy dispatched just now, thanks again for the heads up
This is a damn good deal seeing as the PAL version isn't even released until the 12th:)

    Am I missing something...

The links the OP posted says that the item is not available for shipping to Europe??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,029 ✭✭✭um7y1h83ge06nx

Oh f**k in a big way, hope they don't stop shipping of 360 titles to Europe, one of my favourite things about the 360 will have disappeared.

Hopefully it's only because that title isn't released in this region yet.

It didn't say that the other day, but they seem to have re-arranged which categories PGR is appearing under now for some reason. They have also got rid of the icons showing the region compatibility from the page as well.

Mine has been shipped. Thanks for the link but I used my own :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,241 ✭✭✭god's toy

    it's showing this now

    "Compatible with Xbox360™
    For JPN/Asian systems only. asia.gifntsc-j.gif "

    Grrr...

I heard it was region free too, why change it?

Most of the 1st party games are, are they not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,304 ✭✭✭✭koneko

VG+ tested PGR4 (US version) and said it's region free. I'm not sure what's going on with Play-Asia. Perhaps they're doing this temporarily while they test it themselves, or maybe there is something else going on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,580 ✭✭✭✭Riesen_Meal

Cool my mothers off to the states in a couple of weeks, gonna get a chatpad, PGR4, HD-DVD player, Bioshock and anything else I need!

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 22,693 CMod ✭✭✭✭Sad Professor

Maybe MS weren't too happy... and this is just a temporary precaution to stop people buying it till they figure out were they stand. Apparently a few other 1st party titles have also had their region-free status changed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,789 ✭✭✭grizzly

So, even though it says it's not region free, it is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Happened with gears of war. Think it was just play-asia themselves trying to get people like us to order the more expensive American version.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Stokolan

Ah at any rate its a good thing i have a Japanese 360 just for ocasions like this :p

Do they still ship to Europe as the site says not for sale in Europe ?
And how long does it take to get here ?

They do still ship to Europe, they just seem to have changed the listing for the Asia version of PGR4 today. It has generally taken about a week for anything I've ordered before to arrive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 875 ✭✭✭theothernt

The current listing for the Asian version of the game says they DO NOT ship to the European Union - so the site should stop you when you're ordering. Anyone had a try yet? I'm not too pushed as my 360 is being repaired haha

Ebay is still an option for around the same price.

It is just the Asia verions of PGR4 that they have now blocked EU orders from being placed for, and this change was only made today. Other Asia version games are still available to order from them. They may change the listing for PGR4 once it's released over here though but at the moment it does not let you complete the order with an EU account.

Yeah, it seems to be just PGR4 and only because it's not out in Europe yet. You can still buy BioShock and ship it here for 35 euro, for example.

Obviously Play-Asia are just playing it safe because they don't want to be the next Lik-Sang - I mean, just Google "pgr4 region free" and you'll see the early Asian release and cheap price are no secret :)

Yeah I have to agree with theothernt that they are probably playing it safe. I ordered mine and got shipping confirmation. They probably changed it when they saw how many European people were buy it, and change it so as not to get the big ban hammer that hit liksang!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Stokolan

I can confirm this is region free from play asia. Got my copy today and popped it into my elite and its working!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

    Yep region free

Ah a demo is on live eh? Good! me is going to download for sure :)

Any links for shipping to Europe?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

My god this game is good!
While PGR3 was a fantastic game, this feels like the game that it could have been if Bizarre had time to give it an extra bit of polish and get used to the 360 dev kits.
I'd say wait a couple of days and order the chinese version from play-asia, it's definitely region free

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,828 ✭✭✭unklerosco

Got mine in the post yeterday... Great game, much better than 3. Handeling of the cars is spot on... Its exactly the way i like my car games, pick up n play. No pick up, doodle with settings for an hour n then play. GFX r good, not great(say, GT HD on the PS3).... They aint that far improved over 3, the rain is class tho... really well done

Have been messing around with single player today, like it tbh. Have avoided the bikes so far but love all the cars they've got.

    Thumbs up from me.

Got my copy yesterday as well. So far so good. The series is starting to show it's age a little and the menu system is kinda crap which drags down the presentation a little but other than that it's big improvement on PGR 3.

And the achievements are piss easy. I was only playing for a couple of hours yesterday and racked up over 300 without trying. There isn't much reward for platinum medals either which is disappointing.

The gameplay is as addictive and fun as ever though.

So what's the story? Can this still be bought region free?

It sure can. Try Play-Asia.com It might not say region free but it is. I got mine there and its an NTSC-J copy and works fine. At the moment the cheaper €35 copy is showing that it wont ship to the EU but the €42 NTSC-J and NTSC-U copies are not showing this. so your talking €45 including shipping for a copy at this stage

I was having difficulty earlier trying to play on XBL.

Before I was using the lappy as a bridge and I could find games to join but today I got some cat5 and ran it to the xbox instead. I could go to multiplayer > ranked play but no matter what option I picked I ended up back at the screen to push 'A' to select a race type.

It didn't even show my rank over the single race types. :-/

Maybe it was a once off but I was looking forward to sitting down for some pgr action.

Xtra Vision are doing PGR3 for 10 euro at the moment.
Picked up my copy the other day.

Been playing PGR3 and I think it's bollocks. It looks a lot worse than Burnout 3 on the PS3 and it handles like a piece of crap.
Looks like my nephew will be getting an extra Christmas pressie this year.

    You're wrong :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

    Yep. Horribly wrong!
It's not all that bad looking considering it's a launch game, and the controls are some of the best out there for this style of game imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,396 ✭✭✭✭kaimera

Meant to add it was just a router problem the other day.

Really love PGR4 on Live. The feeling of winning a hot lap race by .09 on the half F1 track is ****ing mint.
Got that guy must have been sickened :p

Shame about the muppets that hammer into the first corner and take you out :(

Quite proud to be Irish on that list. Imo not too shabby given the small population :)

    Go team Ireland!

Aye for a launch game it's pretty good tbh. With the difference between the 2 games in terms of quantity of content you can tell they rushed PGR3 out for launch though.

I won't be playing the Project Gothem series anymore.
I'll be looking into getting Burnout paradise - a proper next-gen Burnout game.
