In my local Dunnes (D22), Ben and Jerrys is now €5.81 a tub, used to be €4.99.

What the fúck is that about, shower of bastards.

Is it possible it used to be €5.99?

I've NEVER seen it sold as cheaply as €4.99. When I've bought it it's always been around €5.99, and saw it in one place for €6.99
Noticed that they were sold for €5.81 in Tesco yesterday and thought the price decreased...

I've only had it once, very nice but way too expensive for the amount you are getting. I could have sworn I paid €6+ for it, but this was in a pizza takeaway so maybe they had a bigger markup.

Anyway, never again. It's outta my price range :(

Its always €5.99 unless its on special.
Rigger looks like they have decreased their price as any time i have been in Dunnes it has been €5.99

It would appear so, shame they didn't knock a bit more off, rather than a curious 18cent decrease.

Oh well, better than nothing. :p

The only time I've ever had Ben and Jerry's was back in April when they were celebrating some sort of anniversary. Mmmmn, free ice-cream! :p Things taste so much better when they're free! :)

about year and a half ago there was a ben and jerrys promo on the nuig campus, thy were giving away free scoops, so after one i went to my programming lecture, in walks my friend with a 5 litre tub of the chocolate brownie stuff, and plastic spoons stolen from the canteen.
we all had icecream, including the lecturer. i went home later to find that my friend had then left the stuff in my freezer because his was too small.

<3 ben & jerrys, hate paying the ridiculous prices though.

Story with them all practically giving it away recently??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

Not practically giving it away anymore! It's gone up in price in Tesco. A few weeks ago before the half price thing it was 5.98, now it's 6.52. Got myself a tb of Hagen Daaz for a change.

I work for a shop that stocks Ben and Jerrys and in the next few weeks it is set to increase in price... I think it's because milk must be going up in price. It's so they can cope with rising costs.
It is ridiculously priced as it is.

We had it 1.50 off for the last few weeks, but that offer is over now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,484 ✭✭✭JIZZLORD

aye, milk and grain are going up due to teh bad summer and the economic boom in china. China is now developing a taste for dairy.

Doesn't bother me really because the Hagen Daaz really wasn't the same! I'll be sticking with my Ben and Jerrys.

I picked up a tub of Chocolate Fudge Brownie today in Dunnes, then I saw a lone tub of Chocolate Therapy so I decided to take that instead. It wouldn't scan at the till so the person serving me went off to find another tub. A few minutes later, after I pointed her, and another woman who decided to look, in the right direction, they arrived back with a tub of Dunnes ice cream and scanned that instead, so I was only charged 4.10, as opposed to 5.91. I usually hate when staff don't know their way around the shop, but in this case I was happy!
