Third Dawn of War Expansion Confirmed "SoulStorm"

THQ/Relic games have announced a third Dawn of War Expansion entitled Soulstorm which is set to add 2 more factions the 7 already released in its various expansions.

So far known details are that one of the factions is the Dark Elder...while the second faction has not been officially named deductive reasoning leads in all probability to the only other race not yet introduced namely the tyranids commonly referred to as "Nids". Seems unlikely a new faction would introduced.

Other snippits of information include that air units will be added in for the first time in dawn of wars history and the single player campaign will be open ended like dark crusade but this time is set in entire star system as opposed to one planet.

Game is due Spring 08.

i remember reading before they wouldnt do nids on this engine as it wouldnt be powerful enough to do them justice

Yeah correct statement about them not wanting to do the Nids in the the current dawn of war engine...perhaps they will hold them over for its sequel...but I hope for the sake of adding the last of the main factions into dawn of war will add a a nice sense of closure.

The witchhunters or the sisters of battles which are strongly tipped to be the 2nd unidentified race are just another sub army of the imperium...which would be the third such army in the game.

So I'm hoping for the nids.

Yeah, another imperial army would be a bit dull, but they've voiced their opposition to the 'Nids numerous times... If every race just got another unit or two as well as adding Dark Eldar I'd be a happy bunny

personally i loved dawn of war and played it loads...so i would be very excited....but since company of heroes i just cant go back to it.

Should be good. I can imagine the rush tactics of the tyranids being in direct contrast to the slow steamrolling Necrons. Mint!

Well, in my opinion any strategy game involving THQ is going to bebought by me.

Dawn Of War and especially Company Of Heroes (and the excellent new expansion) are the best strategy games to be released int he last 3 years.

Online, Skirmish and campaign wise they are all superior graphically, gameplay wise and also in terms of the build quality.
