    Hey,

    Need your expertise!

I gig a lot, and I always ALWAYS run out of plectrums. Combination of eating/losing/breaking/falling into the oblivion/being taken by plec imps... whatever..

Anybody come up with any good on-the-spot homemade plecs? I tried hard cardboard, ends of smoke boxes folded up... Coins if I'm about to change the strings... any body else come up with anything??

    Cheers

    Grace

If you're prone to losing them, just buy them by the bagfull. You can get bags of 72 or something fairly cheap.

Top of the lid of butter. cut them to whatever shape you want. Even better just buy a pick holder and stick it to the guitar. then start getting into the habit of putting them back in every time you arent playing

I usually just leave picks around the house and also a few in my wallet. If I need one theres never one far away. :D

Old credit cards or simiar cards can be used for a medium to heavy pick. 5-6 per card, and if you're careful, you can even get the hologram bit onto one!
I also empty the filter on the washing machine if I run out, there's always a large selection in there.

    Hehehe.

Credit card, good. Fingers, yes, of course, but not for some of the heavier songs I do...

    Good suggestions....

another great place to check is the sound hole on an acoustic, always have one stashed in there for dire times.

Lol, I used to do that. Trying to fish them out is the problem... at a gig shaking you guitar above your head, then one falling out and hitting you in the eye is soooo not a good look :P

    Dart idea great btw.
