We haven't had them in GAME for 2 weeks. I reckon there's gonna be alot of disappointed people (again)

Really? according to vgcharts console sales worldwide are down with the exception of the 360 in some countries due to halo 3, I can't imagine any GAME in ireland sold out of the wii for 2 weeks at the moment.

work in xtra-vision and we were also told there would be a shortage this Christmas,so if anyone inquires about them, they are told to buy it sooner rather than later! We have a few in stock at the moment, sold one to a girl the other day who said she had been to Liffey Valley and around town and she couldn't find one.

It is still selling fairly well. On another note there has been no increase in the amount of 360's sold since Halo 3 came out. We sold a load of the games but only the regular amount of consoles.

I just walked into a HMV last Sunday & bought one. Thought the hardware drought had ended?

Defo a shortage now. Most shops are out of stock. Guy in Smiths Airside told me he got 50 in last Friday and they were all gone but Saturday evening. Argos have been sold out for weeks and its the only item in their catalogue that cannot be reserved!

Everywhere is sold out I searched in today, except GameStop in Stephen's Green but their offer is rubbish, it would actually be cheaper to buy what they're offering separately.

Argos in Liffey Valley have one so I just reserved one online, it works that way apparently. Won't work over the phone.

I had been holding out for Virgin 'cos they have a great offer: Wii & 2 Chart Games for €310, so I'm told. All the stores are sold out. They hope to get some tomorrow, but we'll see.

Was in one store today and the guy I was talking to said that its going to be impossible to get one soon. They said they've been ordering them in and only getting around 20-30% of the order because of the demand.

Smiths in Blanch have a book full of people who have paid desposits and are waiting on them
HMV in Blanch had a sign yestreday saying "Wii back in stock"

Can I ask, why have you waited so long to get a Wii?, I mean like why now, its certainly not pouring games at us at the moment.

I must be honest with you I rarely play mine.Maybe im alone on this.

Unfortunately this is too true for me also. I play more VC games than Wii games on it...

It's the Christmas rush. I haven't stopped playing mine since day 1 last December. Finished Zelda, Red Steel, Resi 4 and COD3, Enjoyed the hell out of Eledees and Warioware before sending them on to a new home. Plenty of VC and Gamecube games purchased and waiting to be played. All on the backburner now while Metroid and soon to be Mario take control of my life!

I got zelda and call of duty 3 last x mass, found them brill completed them within a matter of weeks and that was the last time I bought a game for the wii, Don;t have broadband so no vc, Have loads of gc games but don't seem bothered to play them. Im hoping that will change when super smash bros brawl and mario kart wii come along but for now the 360 is looking good.

Got mine today in Argos Tallaght, had to do the reserve bit online and had to keep checking back until there was one in stock, then nabbed it. E269 with Sports and Nunchuk.

Well there is the internet stating a pure fact. A guy claims he saw this once speculates it happened more often and then postulates there are tons of them out back.
If you have ever worked in a shop it is hysterical to hear people state some of their conspiracy theories. The vodka on sale is watered down etc...

One guy looks at the shelf grabs what he thinks is the last one. Manger looks at figures says one unit left guy goes look and find one put aside for a friend of a co worker takes it and comes out saying last one left. A lot more believable than Best Buy in Nintendo hype pact

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,810 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

I doubt Nintendo have anything to do with this, since they don't have a problem selling the Wii as is.

This is just Best Buy managers/employees being cvnts.

Just out of curiousity I rang Game in Limerick and asked if they had any, they said there sold out and have no idea when their getting them in...

So I checked amazon who are also out of them, so I checked how much there going for on ebay and seen some 2nd hand ones over €450!, I'm half thinking of selling mine for x mass and making a profit of €200 when I buy one in the shop when their back in stock. Evil I know but im broke

Guys was in gamestop on henry st in dublin today, they had just gotten in a shipment of wii's, not many, but there were some (he wouldn't say how many) left at about 3pm when I was there.

    Best of luck :)
And remember a Wii isn't only for Christmas.....it's for life :)

Gamestop Santry all sold out, could be December before they come back in, best thing to do is to call into Argos stores whenever you see one and keep pestering the staff, also they can stock check other stores and reserve one for you.

I could always sell mine, modded and my extensive game collection....

Nope, not a hope, have to play finish Manhunt 2 and Resi Evil Umbrella Chronicles first!

Get Metroid 3 and Mario Galaxy, not a quick weekends gaming either, there's many hours gameplay in those titles, question is when will the 3rd party devs start producung games as good?
And for your COD3 fix, why not look forward to the new Medal Of Honour Heroes 2 due out soon, looks sweet!
