Bank Holiday Saturday October 27th @ The Tivoli, Francis St, Dublin 8.

    Relief Records Party:

    Green Velvet aka Cajmere
Traxx [Créme / Nation - Chicago]
    Barry Donovan [Electric City]

    Doors 10PM
Tickets 25 euro + booking fee from Tivoli Box Office / City Discs / Plugd Records [Cork] / www.tickets.ie

The second block-rocking Shock to come to the Tivoli sees Chicago legend Green Velvet return after two sellout appearances at the TBMC. A string of releases under the GV and Cajmere name have seen Mr Jones at the top of the pile for over 15 years. This bona-fide Preacher Man was born for the big time and his JD sets are an infectious mix of hard rocking traxx and sleazy live vocals over the mic. Too many releases to list here in a brief pr spiel.

Joining him on the night direct from Southside Chicago is Traxx - "the best DJ I've ever seen" - so said Legowelt to us and the sets we've heard back this up. Traxx is part of the Dirty Criminals

(Gigolo) and has released on Relief, Creme and Steve Poindexter's Muqique records and has remixed Hell and Legowelt. A true underground Chicago star, Traxx has recently been putting out dynamite releases on his of Nation of Jak label. Inspired by the sounds of Adonis, Steve Poindexter, Robert Armani and others, Traxx's DJ sets absolutely destroy the floor and with reports of fascist speeches layered over double-copies of roughneck DanceMania traxxxx get ready to jack to the sound of the real underground. Opening up the evening is EC resident, Barry Donovan with his own deviant brand of Knocklyon Jak.

    Hello,

Cheers to everyone who rocked up to kick off the Electric Shock gigs in Tivoli last Saturday. It was a great night seeing the place go off like old times - Hell & Robotnick absolutely loved it! Next up is our Relief Records party on Saturday week with Green Velvet, Traxx and Barry Donovan.

Making his debut on the night will be one of the hottest DJs on the planet, Traxx - a true underground Chicago floor rocker. The trax name has a distinguished history in the annals of Chicago house music, to be in with a chance of winning some double-passes for our Chicago double-header with Green Velvet, tell us which of these was *not* in The Traxxmen

    X) Robert Armani
    X) Traxx
    X) Paul Johnson
    X) Drewsky

Winners will be picked on Wednesday October 24th.

    Best of EC luck.

    Yo!

Here's some slack on da boy Traxx ahead of his set before Green Velvet next Saturday at the Tivoli:

Traxx is a lover of music one with a passion so intense that it overcomes genre divides to weave an all together original, exciting, and multi-textured musical fabric which envelops both the avid clubber and the home listener, as well as everyone in between.

From an early age, Melvin Oliphant surrounded himself with a wide variety of sounds, however, it afforded him an opportunity many longed for but never experienced— he lived, first hand, the evolution of house music into something much more than just an underground phenomenon, and for this reason, he has a deep understanding of the history of the sound, and a clear picture of its future.

For Traxx, the future of dance music rests in the hands of those who seek to expand its boundaries while preserving its past and educating its devotees. Traxx began releasing records in 2002. He met Hell in 2001 and from there things took off. He's released two full albums with members Deecoy, Hieroglyphic Being, James T Cotton on Gigolo as The Dirty Criminals in 2004-2005 and sang vocals and produced one of Hell's biggest selling tracks in 2003 called "Let No Man Jack" which is still being re-released till this day!

Traxx produced his first solo record with Creme Organization with Legowelt and James T Cotton called "Stranger in the Strangest of Lands EP which went on to be the biggest selling Creme 12" in Europe. His talents and productions have carried him across the globe many times over playing four Love Parade Festivals, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Germany, Belgium and Euro 2008 hosts Switzerland.

A Residency at the legendary Tresor Nite Club in Berlin

Played for Prince on several occasions.

Playin the Original DEMF in Detroit 4 times..

Best Dj Set In Detroit in 2002

Best Live Set From the Dirty Criminals in 2002 at DEMF

In 2005 he performed in front of thousands of fans at Chicago's Summer Dance held in Grant Park.

Recently in the spring of this year he started his own label, Nation a limited exclusive vinyl label pushing the boundaries for new edge underground with various artists... in addition Créme-Jak,a side project cooperation between Traxx and TLR's Créme Organization in Den Haag has released a new series of rare 12 inches to bring bak the madness and craziness to the dance scene...

He also continues to produce original music and give new artists a chance to express their ideas and concepts to the youth and the world of tomorrow by creating new stems of musical texture in modern dance tracks, grooves, electronic rhythm, jazz, eclectic and many other forms as well.

    Upcoming releases:

a remix for Bear Who's brand new album on Dust Traxx called 'U Step'
a new project on his Creme Jak imprint called Kontrol.
a new track on Creme Organization called 'Be Somebody'
    a new 12 inch on M>O>S featuring his band X2 called Photon+Solara

    Chart:

    1. XX Art / X2 - This Moment / House Not House [Nation]
    2. Traxx, James T. Cotton, D'Marc Cantu - Photon / Solara [M>O>S> Recordings]
    3. Beta Evers - Unreleased [Nation]
