Dual Monitors / Screensaver

I have two systems both with dual monitor setup but the screensaver does not activate on either even though it is set to do so. If I go to the desktop screensaver settings, choose a screensaver & hit the preview button it works fine but it never actually activates in real time. Any ideas?
