Office 2007 compatability with Office 2003?

I've heard stories about compatability problems between Office '03 and '07...are they true or scaremongering because I've to decide which package to buy for my Vista P.C? Cheers lads.

Office 2007 bt default save files to a different format other than office 2003. For word that is .docx files. You can still save the files as the file type that works in office 2003. Also I believe that there is a patch for office 2003 so that it can open the newer file formats.
