    Given the amount of loose wiring in the cabin, the lump taken out of the passenger door trim, the damage to the passenger seat and the 'what's that?' hanging off the back of it, i'd say tidying up means more than a vacuum. It also looks like a JDM import to me - has the duty & VAT been paid? Bet you it hasn't.;)

    whew, cheers for that!

    JDM import?

    Japanese Domestic Market. Although it could also be from somewhere like Australia. In either case, both duty and VAT are payable on importation. The owner hasn't mentioned this - my guess is he's expecting to sell the car to a UK bidder. Do remember, though, that this is all guesswork on my part!

    JDM = Japanese Domestic Market
    ei. the car was first sold and used in Japan, then shipped over here.

    ya he seems to have about 6/7 going in the next 3 hours, including 2 triumphs. Thing is he says his location is in Kilkenny (i.e. irish number) but his profile puts him in finland!! and his previous ebay transactions are cars bought from Australia!?!?

    I'm a bit sus, but it doesnt look like theyll break the reserve anyway.

    Its been relisted...

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260165607924&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=016

    I'm trying to gauge the true price of car. I think the price is ok if the bonnet is working.

    Basically, can anyone advise if the bonnet hinge can be repaired or if i need a new bonnet?

    A ball park figure of 200 Euro sound about right?

    Thanks again

    To be honest I think this car is way overpriced for the condition it is in. In Europe these cars are selling for around 4,5-6,5k in good to very good condition. This car is in pretty average to poor condition from what I can make out in the photographs: wiring all over the place, interior panels damaged, non-standard steering wheel (boy race style), generally very scruffy, doors seem to have a wider gap at the bottom than at the top, the rear hatch also has ill fitting alignment, and to top it all, the car appears to have had a front end shunt, bumper is crooked and bonnet is not fitting correctly, If you look at the hinges, it appears it has already been seriously tampered with with new screws and bolts and makeup-as-we-go-along brackets, so you will either have to locate a set of the correct hinges or a new bonnet, and this is exactly the problem with Early Japanese cars, it will prove extremely difficult to get the correct parts, if at all! I would be almost certain that you will need way more than 200 euro's to make this car roadworthy...

    My advice is, go and see the car together with an independent mechanic before you make any committment. It could be a good car, but you need someone 'detached' and who knows his stuff, to advise you on the purchase...
