Seve Trophy

I suppose it shouldn't have surprised me, but Nick Faldo's selfish decision to omit Irish players from the Seve Trophy so as to look at a couple of rookies, has as Sky Sports News put it: "resulted in 300 people attending the Seve Trophy, whilst 80,000 showed up for the World Ploughing Championship just up the road".
Faldo was such an unlikeable golfer when playing and was Known as 'Billy NO Mates' in the locker room, and he's brought his amazing charisma to the Seve trophy and looks like he'll bring it to the Ryder Cup next year. Paul McGinlay has already jumped shipped. I won't be cheering on the yanks next year, but if we were to lose the Ryder Cup I hope it's by a large margin just too annoy Faldo.
As for the Seve Trophy I hope Europe hammer Britain, calling them Britain and Ireland is a joke IMO.

Sorry about the rant in my first post on the Golf forum, but I can't think of a more dislikeable person in Sport.

certainly there look to be very few there today also, but would expect there to be a fair few more at the weekend. I don't think it is only the lack of Irish players but the fact that so many of the top players pulled out also that has affected the attendence.

As much as it was a ridiculous decision not to have any Irish players, I have a lot more time for Faldo in the last few years and so have a lot of the players. Otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the captaincy for this or the Ryder cup.

Its a shame Padraig opted not to play I think. So I guess its not all Faldo's fault theres no Irish playing.

He should have ensured that there was one Irish man in the field - if not Paul McGinley, maybe Graeme McDowell even Darren Clarke who may not be playing well but would be an attraction.

Think Monty summed it up when he said the team should be renamed Great Britain In Ireland!!

And Des Cahill didn't help matters when he said nobody could go down there and support England!!
