    I have the SparkLan equivalent of this.

    It does work but is inclined to drop the connection quite a bit, like every 15 minutes!!

    Seems cheap there though, you've not got much to lose.

    Yes, i agree here. I dont know why most people insist on buying third party equipment. I'm not sure about eircom, but most ISP will replace damaged or faulty equipment free of charge.

    Because the Eircom/netopia one only supports wep.

    fail. it supports WPA but its preset to WEP by eircom, its easily changed

    Agreed any recent wireless equipment will support WPA - make sure to visit the manufacturer's site and check if you have the latest firmware. However it is a consideration with older wireless equipment. I was setting up bb for a friend the other night and even though they had a centrino wireless laptop (about three/four years old) the card would only support 'b' standard and therefore wep only.
