Anyone else catch this yet? Suprised there was not a topic up by lunch.

I thought it was all very good, i knew before house said it tho i knew what the deal was with her i kinda guessed it at one point, it was the only logical conclusion.

Great episdoe overall and the ending was very funny, cant wait for the next 6 episodes.

Very good start to the new season. Hugh Laurie is pretty handy on the guitar! Plenty of funny stuff, especially that involving Wilson. I wonder how long until
his team come back. I assume they will cos their names are still on the intro.

Stupendous opener.. probably the best opener in the last season or two as i remember both season openers on 2 and 3 had cases which weren't particularly memorable.

But the revelation in this knocked me for six!

Great to have 'House' back with Hugh Laurie better than ever. Without a doubt, one of the most consistent shows of recent years.

I expect the team back by episode 5.. just a guess though.

What a pitty, i was kinda hoping his team didnt come back :(

Great great twist! Didn't see it coming and the fact that it's based on a real story makes it all the more effective.

How come nobody has mentioned the brilliance of Dr. Buffer? :D

The guitar ransom was good but, as noted elsewhere, would have been better if House had seen the humour in it - he took it a bit too serious.

Not sure how much I missed the Ducklings. I don't believe Cuddy's assertion that they'd have solved it (they wouldn't have) but they might have provided fodder for House's warped brain.
The idea, over the next few weeks, of House torturing new interns is good too - yes, he'll probably end up with the original team (although I've no idea if they'll come back and am not asking to be told!) but not before breaking some in between. Wouldn't mind seeing the AntiCameron back as well : she gives as little of a damn as House.

One of the shows I was most anticipating returning and I know precisely why.

Well, what did you all think of episode 2?

I enjoyed it allot the ending ending was not what i wante though, i was happy with the way he got rid of who he didnt want and i was happy with what happened with the patient but there was something i didnt like about the ending and now i cant remember what it was

Looking forward to watching this tonight.

In a Mentor vs. Mentor Celebrity Death Match, who would win in a fight between House and Perry Cox? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Well Perry has the speed and he is a bastard but when house is pissed off i dont think perry could take him. Id say Cox would annoy house and house would do soemthing to annoy him and it would get out of control just like the janitor and Cox in scrubs where the janitor had cox duct taped and stuck in the morgue

any of you see the episode of scrubs where Cox was Dr House? Fantastic episode.

The last two episodes of house have had great medical stories, Very good work on behalf of the writers

My only gripe with House: The lack a serious "opponent" for House itself....both Tritter (the cop) and the billionaire (can't remember his name) were removed far too easily and conveniently.....I hope we get a episode or two about his leg this season

    Love the show though

    What channel is this on??

Very true, the one thhing related to TV that myself and my friends agree on is that house needs a nemesis but the problem is this

    1. Unless the story movies VERY fast it wont have the same effect that Tritter and the billiuonare had because they where such fast paced episodes with lots going on it made them even better!

    2. If they have a story running the legenth of season 4 where house does have to deal with someone then it wont be as interesting if it runs the whole season because things wont be happending quick enough.

    3. They cant keep bringing in enemys for house to fight with for 10 episodes then they get beaten and go away again, personley id watch that but americana audiences dont seem to like simmilar plots being reused.

Anyone see the promo for the next episode?

    It's like House meets Supernatural!

    Spooky! :)

I think the show has gotten better each week, just a shame we have to wait two weeks for the next one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

This weeks episode was superb..... House goes from strength to strength.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Yep, top notch episode this week.

Said it numerous times and i'll say it again.. House is a rare example of a show that rarely dips in quality (mostly due to the always excellent performance of Hugh Laurie).

Quite a touching episode really.. and the dynamic between the two patients stories was quite something (one who wanted to die to experience the bliss, and one who just couldn't live any longer).

PS - but bring back Cameron's brown hair.. she's a cuter brunette than a blonde!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

OOOOOOH new update letting poeple multi quote that will be great for arguements!

Anyway house ye wow what an episode, your right thought its almost perfect quality though a whole season, im not sure what next week is going to be like, probbley funny because of houses reactions....

Anyway that was one of the best house episodes, i think house does need s nemesis though but they cant keep bringing in people to fight with house for 10 episodes and then house wins, maybe some long term person for house to fight with

That's part of House's character - he doesn't like the humour when he's the subject of it. His initial falling out with Tritter was for the same reason.

This week's episode was brilliant alright. I'm glad the other 3 aren't gone completely from the show, I wonder what will happen Foreman now that he's been fired from his new hospital - he seems to have exorcised his ghosts (curing the patient in the same way he killed the other one) so I could see him coming back.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,003 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Excellent episode this week - had a right lump in my throat as the
patient died and the dog crawled up to die atop his master
    .

It's good fun with the potential recruits, including House's names (Cutthroat Bitch :D). Loved his 'Survivor'-moment with the bunsen burners.. inspired!

I do hope though that we get a new team and not just the old ones returning in a few weeks time. The fantastic start to the season shows that they're not necessary (except for Chase - can we keep him?).

Can anyone tell me what channel this is on? I want to see it but can't find out what channel it's on. Thanks.

Channel Cousin. It's available with all good ISPs.

Well I have been enjoying House and his treatment of the newbies as if they were in Survivor/ Big Brother/ The Bachelor etc. etc. But it must be getting close to time for the producers to decide who gets to stay. I'm also looking forward to how House gets on with post-ER Michael Michele.

My money would be on cut throat bitch being a definite pick for fellow, but after that I'm not too sure.

Interesting that Anne Dudek, who plays CTB, once starred in Channel 4 show The Book Club, and one of its other actors, Derek Riddell, turned up as Christina's husband on Ugly Betty this week.

This was another great episode - and I'm glad they got rid of MM, who was indeed a late comer. Lots of good jokes in this one (and I also dug the Nip/Tuck reference), although the case itself wasn't that interesting.

I'm trying to decide who I want to take up the slots - I think I'd like to see Dr. Kumar and Dr. Nip/Tuck take it currently, with 13 as backup. Great concept for a season arc and it has me tuning in as early as possible each week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Fantastic episode but i didnt think house would fire your one from the cia, im loving house this season, my only complaint was no real season story arc and now theres a decent one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭anotherlostie

Great the we got House this week.

And this week's task to retrieve the thong of Cuddy was hilarious, together with the resulting immunity and nominations. Didn't see the ending coming.

The medical storyline was a bit meh, was more interested in the tricks than the story.

No sign of Cameron or Chase either, and Foreman was very much in the background. Maybe they should have cut the cord with them last year.

Eh, does not bother me that much because episode 1 is long gone, though a topic on each house episode... :) or some sort of house forum....

Ye it was a good episode, again something i can come back to and rewatch in a day or so because i dont remember it 100%, as mentioned above the media story didnt hold my interest this week which is fine because the rest of the story more than made up for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭anotherlostie

Aw! Gutted that CTB got the axe. I thought there was a lot more potential for back story with her than the 'Cameron-lite' 13. Kumar/ Kutner strikes me as an incompetent doctor, and not someone House would have hired.

Although hopefully two things will happen now:

    - they will get back to more focus on POTW.
    - they will decide to write out Chase and Cameron, both of whom are pretty pointless to the plot at this stage (and given their real life split probably would be happy not to be working on the same lot).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

well i thought it was a good episode, it will be interesting to see if they decide to add another short story arch for a few episodes because they started a new arc yesterday about the
    law suit

    Good episode too.
We may have a new character as well, the prostitute who went to the clinic looks like she could be a bit of a love interest for House, judging by the very last scene. Anyone know for sure?

I remember seeing the finale of Season 3 on Hallmark and all they said was that it was starting 'in the new year', but they didn't really give details. I don't know about Channel 6.

2 in a week? They're not the last are they? I'll never get my head around American tv scheduling.

They are, to fill the void we get 3 house in the space of 7 days, the one we just watched and the 2 more to come. Its good because its been a while since i have seen good new TV, although the 2nd season of "The Univerce" seems huge, Very high ratings and im supirsed to see numbers downloading that you would only normelly see on shows like lost.

    Still though 3 house :)

It's good to have House back. Seems like forever since i'd seen it.

    Was a good episode.
Was kinda gross when he sprayed the milk into the kids mouth though!

The new episode is on tomorrow night after the super bowl since both are airing on Fox and Fox wants the biggest audience possible for the one show it has left. After Tuesday's episode, it's over. They have no more episodes left until the strike is over.

That was disastrous; Cox solved cases House had already solved, and took longer than he should have to do it.

Ah, but I can't honestly stay mad at a mix of House and Scrubs - two of my all-time favourite shows...
