    Sincabeza

Sincabeza is Eric Camara, David Loquier, and Philippe Rey, three veterans of the Bordeaux rock scene. They met whilst Eric and David were playing for solo singer-songwriter Guimo (Chronowax), and Philippe had just released a self-titled album with Nuer (PIAS). Following the discovery of mutual musical influences, the three of them decided to experiment jamming together in December 2002; initially a causal side-project, their natural perfectionism and committed work ethic saw them complete a demo by April 2003, and several high-profile support slots for Explosions in the Sky, Trans Am, Karate, and The Evens followed.

If a frame of reference is needed, Sincabeza’s music sits somewhere between the UK bands that Sincabeza have already accompanied both in France and during their first UK tour - Charlottefield, That ****ing Tank, I’m Being Good, and those at the forefront of the American independent /avant-garde rock scene of the present day: Tortoise, Shellac, Don Caballero. Post rock, instrumental rock or noisy pop – whatever; if you ask them, Sincabeza will tell you that genre is not even an issue. The trio simply play, allowing themselves to follow whatever deconstructed, intricate, liberated path they wish - songs full of awkward variations, elaborate arrangements, razor-sharp breaks, and twisted themes. Their music springs in every direction, but you have to see them live to better grasp their explosive and frenetic nature. The quality of musicianship is second to none, and yet the raw, physical energy of their live show threatens to lose control at any moment.

With second album « Edit sur passage avant fin ou montée d'instrument » now out on Paris’ Distile records, and David currently free from duties as drummer in Laetitia Sadler of Stereolab’s side project Monade, Sincabeza are ready to hit the road again and rock the **** out wherever they can. A UK tour for October follows dates already played in Belgium, Holland and Spain, and will give them a chance to revisit the convertees from their first tour, as well as make some new friends.

"[Edit sur passage] never stops bouncing around, and always away from wherever you thought it might go […] Sincabeza rock hard, with precision and a sense of humour. Honey to the ears of those who like their rock canny." - www.dmute.net

    Souvaris

    163676461_l.jpg

Souvaris have been playing together for 7 years, and release their second album, "A Hat", on Gringo Records in July 2007. Written over three years and mastered by John Golden (Sonic Youth, Melvins, Lightning Bolt), "A Hat" joyfully throws together the krautrock motorik of Neu! and Can, the grooves and bad jazz of Tortoise and Battles and the odd Yo La Tengo or Bedhead-esque pop hook.

Having played countless shows with bands ranging from Do Make say Think to Thee More Shallows, The Shipping News to Matt Elliott, Fly Pan Am to old friends Explosions in the Sky, Souvaris deliver a live show that is as entertaining as it is subtle, as direct as it is layered. Souvaris released their first EP, a self-titled 12" on Telesphere Recordings, in 2003, described as « miles ahead of the usual post rock sludge » .

A debut album, "I Felt Nothing At All", followed, released in January 2005 on Bearos Records, and distributed in France by la FNAC. The band, although proud of the record, felt they needed to push themselves further and wholly detach themselves from the limiting quiet-loud aesthetic of a million post-rock soundalikes.

The past two years have been spent writing new music, developing new sounds and approaches, and honing the dynamics and energy of their songs. Wandering chords and ambient washes have been replaced by tight grooves, intricate rhythms and playful melodies. Souvaris have played twice toured the UK and Europe, visiting France, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland along the way. Fresh back from a ten date tour of France, where they met with warm receptions and garnered glowing reviews, they are feeling more determined than ever to take their music further a field. Put simply, they love to play – and hope to play to you soon.

"Souvaris create music that takes the listener by the throat and doesn’t let go until the end […] one can only enjoy imagining the future direction of this band, whose discography is rapidly becoming indispensable" - www.benzinemag.net

    Trails

Trails are a great instrumental experimental rock band from Wicklow.
"Hi I love myself and am the best band in the earthfffffff. Please listen to me make sound. I would love to meet you all in person. But my cabbage breath disallows this kind of rumpus. Speaking of rumpus I had a terrible time done south last year. Many crocodiles ate my guitar strings. But it's okay since I developed a set of snare wires on my back, an stuck them on my guitar. It creates quite a buzz when it is plucked with a deft hand like mine. Could I please loan some orange juice for my upcoming sabbatical in jerusalem?. Love and good wishes. Trails (a real person.) "
