DTT - Internal TV tuner problem

I recently got a Samsung 32 inch CRT HDTV with a digital tuner on it. I tuned in the channels just fine with a connection to the roof. The TV is telling me that I have 70% signal. When I select RTÉ 1 it starts for a few seconds perfectly and then says "Signal Encrypted" on the screen. Anyone have any idea why this would happen?

would RTE be flagging the signal as encrypted even though it isint ?

Well not RTE but BT or whoever is feeding the Tx.

A right coded software send the mpeg stream to the mpeg decoder independently of the encryption flag.
Maybe there is a option to force such a behavior.

i tuned in a mates samsung tv to rte and there was no problem at all with receiving the pictures. i didnt look into the menu much to see if there was a setting to allow scrambled flagged channels to be viewed if they are fta. any more luck since??

I have the same issue with my Samsung. I was receiving the DTT without issue for a few weeks defore I started getting the "Signal Scrambled" message on all channels.

I still get the picture and sound, but the message box is permenantly displayed.

No software updates were applied to the tv, so it must have been triggered by a change to the channel.

have had a good look at the settings, and done a complete reset / re-scan. still no joy.

Phone the samsung support or write a mail.
Normaly there should be a option to switch off onscreen messages.

Could the apparent change to reception of FTA channels relate to an old thread I raised weeks ago?
All pictures vanished leaving only radio, full signal strength (Clermont Cairn),on a Sony 32" trinitron digital receiver,All had been well for at least four months before this sudden change, prompting me to ask if anything had altered at the send end?

It's a mickey mouse Political window dressing Trail. There are not officially ANY channels for the public.

RTE1,2,TV3,TG4 are all still coming in unencrypted on my Philips LCD TV with digital tuner. I'm on 3 Rock though.

Seems like I am not the only one getting a little fed up messing with masts.
