just looking for opinions on this place.

    i'm currently 21 5ft 10in and 16 stone.

i want to lose weight and thought maybe if i spend money on a gym membership i will actually exercise as if i didn't i'd see it as a waste of money and i hate squandering money.

just looking for opinions on this place, also since this is my first time joining a gym i'm kind of nervous about it. what are the showers like do you have separtor walls up, i know no one will be looking it would put my mind at a ease a little.

also do they have lockers you can use as i usually carry a laptop with me to and from work which i'd be coming from when i'm going to the gym.

thanks guys, any replies are greatly apreciated.

yeah its not a bad gym was a member when i lived in the area.it plenty of equipment but it does be very busy from 5-7(i used to leave it till about 8pm and it was grand).its got lockers for ur clothes and stuff so ur laptop will be safe.the showers r divided into cubicles but dont worry about it everyone is there for the same reason.also if u do join a member of staff will give u an assessment and build u a program and they will review/change it every 4/5weeks if u want.its a good idea coz u will have some set goals in a certain period.some good classes aswel(took the boxing one myself very enjoyable)

    Hi booyah1024 -

    1) Yes, we have lockers where you can store your laptop.

    2) Each shower has a partition. We have 2 changing rooms on seperate floors. The showers on the top floor aren't as frequently used as those downstairs (where the sauna, steamroom and tylarium are) so maybe they would suit you best.

When you join our gym, an instructor is assigned to help you achieve your goals. It's their duty to help you get results because when you feel happy with our service, then you're very likely to renew your membership and also tell your friends about our gym.

We have over 50 classes a week, which are all free as part of your membership. As yabadabado mentioned, the box circuit class is especially popular amongst males. Check out our website www.thefitnessdock.ie to see a list of all our classes.

The best thing to do is to come down and check out the gym. You can sign up for a free one-day pass on our website.

PM me if you have any questions.

    Cheers,

    PAUL

Does anyone know about the membership deal with the Fitness Dock? How does it work exactly, can you oay for a minimum amount of months or is it a yearly buzz?

In the same thread, anyone have any info/opinions/feedback from the markievitcz leisure center, i saw that they don't have weights or something etc, but two of my friends go there and seem very pleased, just wondered what the general consensus here was.

    Thanks!

I was in the Fitness dock the other day asking about membership.

The guy told me the contract is for 6 months at €65 a month,
he also said for people who AREN'T working there is an offer of €9.75 a week if you visit the gym during off peak hours(I think) eg DON'T visit at lunch time ( 1 - 2 pm)

That's about all I know so far
