Was having a conversation and the topic was cams/TS's (copys of movies often leaked before a movie is released on DVD) Anyway ye the quality is not great but some people just refuse to watch them, i rarely watch them as ye it can spoil the movie. But i was thinking as long as it has good audio and is somewhat watchable quality it should not matter that much.

I was thinking of watching the new residiant evil movie but have not decided, There are some people who wont play a game if the grafix are **** but to me its the story that makes a game good. The effects are a bonus.

I was wondering is it the same with movies? i downloaded a sample of this movie about 30 seconds long and the audio is perfect and the quality is... like making a copy of a copy of a VHS tape if anyone has ever done that. Im asking those if you that do watch Cams/TS's does it ever ruin the movie for you or am i right? quality of booms and such is not as important as the story?

TBH while I have watched a good few cams in my time, I've generally viewed them as a sort of preview rather than a way of viewing films regularly - I'll generally only bother searching them out if I don't know whether the film is worth paying to see.

If someone whines that watching a cam of a movie "ruined" it for them then they should be told where to go in as rude a way as possible; it's hardly fair to judge a film poorly if you watch some knocked-off copy of it, much less to complain that this knocked off copy of the film that you watched for free was of substandard quality. While I'm not one to value visuals over story elements, I do prefer to watch films at the best visual quality available.

Film is much more a visual medium than videogames. Videogames tend to be more about the players' actions and immersion in the world. Films tend to tell a story through audio and visuals.

I won't watch a cam/TS because a large part of what makes a film worthwhile will be severely diminished by such an experience.

I agree with Nekkid.... I love going to the cinema, and watching cams is a considerably inferior experience. I just don't do it.

    DVDScr's / R5 / DVDRip's / occasionally TC's ftw!

    Cam's / TS's - quality is balls!

.... wait, what was the queston again?!?

    cam's never

TS yes but only by good groups (PUKKA,maVen etc.)

R5 / DVDScr / TC / DVDRip are best but take longest (R5 of Harry Potter arrived in September)

Not being able to make out that rock was in Be Cool pretty much turned me off watching anything other than cinema or dvd, whats the point in buying a decent tv if your gonna watch crap on it.

I'll consider watching a good cam version for a certain type of film, i.e. a comedy, possibly trilleIr. But for a Sci-Fi or anything that has any sort of special
    effects I avoid them.

    Milla Jovovich and zombies...

And yeah, I'd rather wait for a DVD screener at the very least (but usually end up going to the cinema to see all of the films that I really want to see)
