I'm here in London and will be keeping an eye him.

Some more Irish that feature today are Andrew Black, Paul Leckey and Alan Betson. Also a couple of PPP qualifiers, one named Francis McCormac whom I met a the bar yesterday.

3 Irish came out of Day 1A. They were Liam Flood 28K, Marty Smyth 13K and, Sean Reihil (I think) 19K.

I'm updating as "reporter on pokernews.

Nicky, clicking on the "betting structure" tab on yesterdays updates seemed to indicate that the level length was 35 mins. Am I reading something wrong?

Apparently their dinner break is taken at the poker table... using the little drinks table beside them... nice, Anyone know if that is true? It's a bit rough..

I know that he got the last of it in with a flopped Jack high flush draw vs a flopped Ace High. But, judging by the reports, he was shortstacked and struggling from early on.

Horrible day for the Irish. I don't think any of them are left (at least none that I recognise) Bracelet winner Alan Smurfit was playing but was short and currently MIA. Peter Smurfit whom I don't know and is no relation tot he above is also busted. Sean Jethi never got a stack together, Alan Betson is gone, and Andrew Black went out very early.

    Bah!

We'll have to rely on Flood, Smyth and Reihill tomorrow then.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

Sorry, Paul Leckey is still on 15-18K. There's also quite a vocal iris gentleman in a corner I can't get to. I don't know him. I'll post a photo later and someone can tell me. He's on about 25K.

Casarino is on 40K also. He's Irish right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

Alan Smurfit re-appeared from under his chair but he's shortstacked.

John Conroy is the unknown Irishman.

He seems to be doing better than he did on Poker Million shown last night on sky. He was horrendous then i thought. His facial expressions and mannerisms reminded me of Phil the Scottish dealer in the Fitz.

Yep and he's a complete heee haaw, but not nearly as bad as Ola Brandborn. Watch out for an enormous meltdown from him tomorrow. I predict he will do his tank in 3 levels.

My tip for this is the French chip leader Levi who actually lives in London. He came close in Dortmund. He's solid, aggressive and never seems to spew chips easily.

Never a bad idea to tip the Chip Leader Nicky always must have a chance LOL only playing from what iv seen of ola brandborn played agenst him during the fitz sdpt festival in the omaha event when he has some chips he seems to play like a patient who is on the run from St Lomans Hospitel for the Mentally Disturbed!!

lol! You're right, he does play like an escaped mental patient. Was watching his table for a while yesterday and the scandies were treating 3rd pair as the nuts against him.

    Surinder Sunar – England – 135,000

    Pascal Perrault - 178,000

    75 players left

Last year Vicky Coren won it, seems like the old late night poker experience is a factor at the london ept.

And Moneymaker is flying as well.

Only 2 Irish in the last 40. Alan SMurfit and Shane Reihill. Liam Flood was the last player knocked out today when his AKo was no match for both 99 and 44 on a 9-8-4 flop. Also Paul Cambpell (whom I didn't know was Irish) was taken out 43rd with QQ Vs T2 all in preflop!!

I'll post the full chip-counts for tomorrow here shortly.

Lam Trinh - im sure some of you remember him from the IPC in Citywest last Jan. Anyway he is 4th in chips with 30 odd left.

2 Irishmen remaining - Alan Smurfit and Tony Cascarino

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Just watching some of thw webcast.
Roland DeWolfe gets it all in with AJ versus Kings.
J on the flop and J on the river
    Just your typical DeWolfe hand.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

de Wolfe is out now losing a race with JJ Vs AQ.

Both Irish are still in but among the shortest stacks with 16 left. We havne't been able to get near them and they haven't been on the feature table but there's a redraw now so they may show up.

    Smurfit now on feature table.

re: age spets, i watched in poker million the other night too and he was BAD, but dealt to him for about six hours at last years dublin ept and he ran over his table whenever i saw him, and got knocked out with his QQ no match for TT all in preflop. thought he was quality and was looking forward to seeing him on poker million, where as has been said he was BAD! :p
