    ..but there's a show on MTV here right now called "America's Next Greatest Model."

    It's about as cerebral and enjoyable as you'd expect for such a show, so I mention it only as it heavily features fashion and style photographers. The show goes into detail about fashion shoots - everything from make-up through to post-processing and presentation.

    Tonight's (for example) featured a really in-depth look to a photographer who was using a medium-format scanback, which was pretty fascinating.

    So if you can all stand to have a few brain cells die, it's worth a watch.

    I watch America's Next Top Model just for the photos... I swear! Their shoots are always so big and cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for this. Thanks!

    Good lessons of lighting are old BW movies. They had to be very precise, because their films didn't have big exposure range.
