    Hey folks,

I'm looking to get my hands on a few books for college, and was wondering if anyone knows of a website where I can get them for cheapo. They're charging extortionate prices in the UCD bookshop and the students union shop doesn't have the ones I'm after.

    Cheers

Amazon or Play have some. Though I would discourage anyone from buying college books given that every college has a library.

I used to see loads of notices around my college with people selling or looking for books....maybe put up a notice or check the notices.
I take you have tried ebay?

The library and the photocopier are your friend. I wasted so much money on books last year!

new website launched by a friend of mine in Business and Law 4th year just this summer:

    www.findabook.ie

not sure how many books are on it at the moment but AFAIK its free to advertise your book at the moment...prices seem reasonable.

My advice to you would be to find those who are a year above you and ask them if they want to sell their books. Most of them have no use for them anymore and will gladly sell them cheaply to you.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get a class list.

Get yourself a cheap international edition printed in India. You can pick them up on ebay. Paper is a little thinner and there's no color but they are cheap and the content is the exact same as the editions you'll pay lots for over here

    http://www.bookshop.ie/

They'll should have any college books you want, listed in all the universities.

In Hodges Figgis when you spend €80 (getting stamps for every €10) you get €10 off your next purchase so if you're buying a few it's good there.

second hand from Amazon is what i'm using this year, saving about 70%. One of my books €50 in NUIM bookshop and only £6 on amazon!
