weight loss where?

    I am losing weight. I have lost 2.5 kg but still my stomach seem the same. As well as having a high protein low fat diet I cycle 3 milies every day. This is all I can manage due to medical reasons but doc says my diet is ok.

    How to lose from stomach?

    There is no way to spot reduce fat sometimes the stomach is the most stubborn of areas. 2.5kg is a start (and congrats on that) but if you are holding excess weight i'd recommend sticking with what your program for a while longer.

    It's always the bit you hate most that takes the longest to change. Stick with it and it will happen.

    Take photos & measurements, fat loss is slow. It is similar to a child growing up in your house, the growth is slow and you might not notice it. But see a child you havent seen in a year and they can appear to have sprouted overnight. I meet people I havent seen in a few years and they are shocked at how much weight I have lost, mates mention it too but they see me all the time so it is not so shocking.

    Has your belt size gone down? I ended up putting loads of new holes in mine but couldnt see a real difference, but obviously there was- the belt wasnt growing. It is shocking to see the holes in my belt that I used to be using!

    Are sit ups good for weight loss in the stomach area? I'm having the same problem myself.

    No sit ups will help strengthen your abs but they will not reduce the fat over the area. You could have the best ab muscles ever but they will still be covered in fat

    A sixpack is made in the kitchen and not the gym (should be a motto of this forum or something)

    You do not spot reduce fat by working muscles in that area (well some studies show maybe a tiny amount).

    Your time would be FAR better spent doing heavy lifting compound lifting. Doing heavy squats in replacement for your time spent at situps will do more for your abs. And squats will cause a lot more overall muscle growth, which in turn burns calories, which in turn raises the metabolism, which will increase fat loss.

    Do heavy lifts like squats, deadlifts, military press, upright rows, chinups, pull ups, 8-12reps, 2-3sets. If you were to limit yourself to 45mins twice a week, then doing those exercises are likely to make you loose more fat than any other activity you could do for 90mins in a week. Other activities might burn more calories in 90mins, but on your nonworkout days your body is building muscle and your metabolism is raised so you loose a lot of fat.

    no none. all exercise will remove fat from all over your body. unfortunately the stomach is usually the last to go aswell :mad:

    Now you're getting it ;)

    I think there's better ab exercises out there than sit ups but yeah hit the abs, get them stronger/bigger then all you have to do is get rid of enough fat.

    I saw a bar in a gym on a squat rack loaded with plates, it's far better.

    Sorry to be cheeky man but don't waste your time with those things just get squatting and deadlifting regularly and maybe a few direct ab sets and not only will it potentially aid fat loss but it will build a strong set of abs too.

    I saw an ab exerciser fro 20 ero in tesco. Can't think of name. Its held in the lap sitting and you press down. Anyone seen that any good
    I bought an ab wheel on ebay and got one of those things with it (didnt want it really). It actually seemed to give good resistance. I got rings www.ringtraining.com which do the same job as the ab wheel & lots more besides.

    I reckon the ab wheel would be better than the tesco yoke. You can do a LOT more with the rings.

    Depends on how much you're squatting and deadlifting tbh...

    It shoudn't be any more than 300e for 140k set(incl bar), though it's probably less.

    Don't forget you're gonna need a squat rack or a power rack too if you're planning on squatting at home!!

    Tbh getting a decent bar and plates for it aswell as a powerrack could cost a bit. I don't know how much exactly but you could just as easily join a decent gym and get squatting and dl'ing next week instead of 2 months time when you finally have everything set up at home.
