Virgin 1 gets launch date

    Virgin 1 gets launch date October 1st on Sky Ch 153. available on Freeview, satellite and cable

    Initial programming will include The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Riches with Eddie Izzard and Star Trek (excluding the original series).

    The Riches sounds interesting, as does the Houlding Project and Crime Invasion.

    Hardly any worse a channel than Ftn was...

    Cant say i watched Ftn for any length of time esp. when you see the progs on it,eg: Gladiators, 15-1, & X-Files & when looking at it now airtime 6pm-6am.

    I hear its on a longer timeframe on digital next wk?

    will V1 be availible to us in ireland ?

    and if it is.. will some of the programming be blocked, as it is on C4 ?

    would be nice if it was ntl alright. We get ftn on ntl and if this is replacing it :confused: :rolleyes:

    Looks like Virgin might be FTV but not FTA, at least it's currently scrambled on my FTA box.

    Nope. Virgin 1 and Vigin 1 +1 (Virgin 2? :rolleyes: ) are both encrypted, same as ftn. Freeview does not imply FTV (see E4/More4)
