Howdy. I know these threads come up from time to time but i have seen these specific questions answered. If you discover asbestos in your home/room and it appears undamaged (to the untrainned eye), what is the immediate risk?

It could be a few days before the experts get out and im wondering if the room should be 100% avoided until then? what level of exposure can cause cancer?

Finally, can anyone recommend asbestos experts/removers please?

AFAIK, asbestos is safe unless disturbed.

    Refine this for your location

In the absence of any detail on what sort of 'asbstos' u have encountered, it is difficult to advise. In addition this topic was dealt with very recently on this forum so I suspect this post was done before you searched this forum.

thanks all. At this point we dont know what type it is until the experts arrive. Its not tiles, it was materials in the ceiling.

As a general rule NEVER disturb asbestos no matter what type it is. Disturbing it releases fibres which are the elements that may cause you serious lung damage (mesotheleoma / asbestosis ?).

This is a job for specialists. That said get a few opinions in case it is not asbestos and some con artist tries to convince you that it is.
