msn cam problem??(probably network related)

    ok so i just moved to college and as far as i know only the http port is open for us(i now live on campus)

    I can log into and chat on msn no problem but when i try to view or end cam it jsut says connecting and nothing happens


    the http proxy is set to the college network and the socks one is empty

    is there anything i can do to get around this as there are people id like to see b4 halloween

    From my experience (in UCD), no, you can't get it to work.

    As you say http traffic can pass thru the firewall (i.e. msn chat) but not the video stream which uses ports that aren't open on the firewall.
