    bit bland for me.

longer exposure might have been better.

    Crop to left and right.

    Not much else.

I instantly think, red sludge lake on the surface of Mars. It's a very unusual picture.

I like it lady....the sea is nice and calm, and it means more being local for you. maybe a vertical crop to get rid of the big expanses left and right of the moons reflection.

    nice work though..well done

As city exile said, very unusual. I like it, maybe move in a little closer..

Its an unusual picture alright, as already said its very like an alien planet.
I think I like it... no, I know I like it!
Not sure about the crop tho, I'd go with the first one.
    Thanks for sharing!

    NO!
    I prefer the first one.
There's a natural diamond shape formed by the light, with the horizon acting as an axis. I'm not sure why everyone is so keen to crop it.

Have you tried giving it the B&W treatment?

I do prefer the first one, never thought to crop it smaller. Did the black n' white thing but still prefer the colour version. I sent it to TV3, Martin King and there is a possibility of it being published in a book for christmas. They are hoping to publish a book of photos for christmas and raise money for the three childrens hospitals.

    Here's the b&w

Well if it's good enough for Martin King, it's good enough for us. :D

I prefer the vertical crop...i wonder what it'd be like printed out on canvas...i bet it'd be nice hanging on the wall....

I'd be a bit worried about the shadows of the railing and the people in the lower third of the shot. Kind of steals the 'otherworldly' appeal it has a little.
That said I do like it a lot, congrats and I hope it makes the selection for the book.

Nice sky & lighting on the trees, but the headlight / brake light trails detract from it for me.

@ lady_north. ditto! vertical crop - put it on canvas - hang on a wall = rather excellent !

Thanks for the comments. I have not been taking photographs for long so am very new and inexperienced. I think I will go for the canvas for this one, I always liked it.

    Thanks again
