Man was a legend and could make bombs or escape using any combination of everyday items.

But I always thought the series stopped as the actor Richard Dean Anderson was killed when explosives went off prematurely on the set
It seems he is alive and well.

Pretty shocked to hear that. Did anyone else ever hear that MacGyver was killed? Maybe it's an urban myth

I've heard the theme tune as someones ringtone a few times. Respect:cool:

Well he was deadly, making bomds out of toilet roll holders and all.

Sure he was in Stargate SG1 so it must have been bull!

You thought he died two years before you saw Stargate, or untill recently?

I'll never forget the episode where he killed something like 2 billion ants with a can of deodorant and a lighter :D

I was told they stopped making MacGyver as he was killed while filming it.
Heard that from a few people
    Obviously nonsense so.

    Great show all the same

No matter what situation he found himself in, there always seemed to be a cannister of pressurised gas he could use to escape and usually kill 5 or 6 baddies along the way. What a guy!!

UK TV Gold show the repeats all the time, ah the memories :)

Box of matches+chewing gum+lolly pop sticks=bomb. :) The time when the engine was broken down and he started it with a ball point pen.

I didn't know his first name was Aengus!
Man McGyver was the best - hand grenades from pine cones and wood resin, and to think all i used to do was hang them from the Christmas tree. imagine all the "War" games I could have won if i knew that

Yes, of course my husband's first name is Aonghus. He's a very busy man and so handy around the house! I lead a hectic life what with all his public engagements. If he was dead sue wouldn't i be the first to know?? (i.e. being his widow) :)

Best programme ever. Have the first 2 series on DVD. Working my way up to them all.

Had never seen the pilot until I got the DVDs. The guy that plays Pete was in it but not as Pete. Was a little confusing. Oh, and Mac sealed a crack in a nuclear reactor with a bar of chocolate and made it sound plausible as usual.

Apparently they used to deliberately leave out a vital ingredient when he was doing stuff like making a bomb, just in case the kids would try it at home :D

Would that vital ingredient have been dynamite I wonder? ;)

There is some site on the net that specialises in "MacGyverisms". I can't find the link at the moment though. They give instructions on how to use household items to fix broken appliances, or things to make. Its quite weird to say the least!
