adding colour to black and white picture

hi , i have taken a colour picture , have changed it to black and white , but i want to be able to ad colour to certain parts of the pic (if you understand ) i am using photoshop 7 cheers

Google selective colour (EDIT selective color if you must)

Before you desaturate the image use a selection tool (or mask, or channel) to select what you wish to keep. The invert your selection and desaturate.
