Not sure whether to persue this or to leave it. I like a barman in town and we've had the odd little chat while I'm buying a drink, but I can't tell if it's mutual or if he's just being flirty. I've no idea what to do?!

observe how he interacts with other customers - particularly other pretty chicks (am assuming you're a babe!) Do the girly 'any info on' thing on the grapevine, if he's been working there long. Barmen should be, and many are, total pro-s at a little over-the-counter flirtation so tread cautiously!!

    Get talking to him more.

Many of my barman mates are pretty flirtatious anyway so you need to do a bit more digging.

I was never very flirtatious when serving drink myself but there are plenty of barmen that would be that way.

You could always slip your phone number into his breast pocket though I suppose. Damn me for losing that piece of paper :p

But seriously - its one of those stranger social clicks: he's almost certainly sober and working, and you've maybe had 1 or 2 to drink and are there to have a good time.
You can always try looking out for him off duty - wouldnt be the first barman to drink in his own workplace off the clock.

Yeah you should go in some night and if there's more than one bar in the pub he works in, you could order your drink there and then just casually watch him to see how he is with other girls there.. is it the type of pub in town that has regulars or is it one of the more touristy ones in and around Temple Bar?

For what it's worth, I worked in a busy bar and club in Galway and most ofthe doormen and a few of the barmen, sadly I have to say, had girlfriends and were in the job cause it was a great way to meet other girls as well..
But obviously not all of them were like this!!

And a friend of mine drinks in his own pub all the time when he's not working so Overheals's right, there's a good chance he'll be there on this time off too.

But be really careful, you don't want to be just another girl he has scored so check out about him if you can to find out if he's a decent kind of guy.
