Tuning Dish to Astra 2 query

I've been trying to setup a PACE 2600c1 to align with the astra 2 satellite for bbc, itv etc. and am without a meter to help me. I am getting no readings in the signal strength and signal quality bars at all but at some stage the Netwok Id changed from 0000 to 0001 and the Transport Stream changed from 0000 to 041d which I believe is the Astra 1. Does this mean the equipment in working ok and I just need to be patient? I'm pointing it at approximate SSE direction.

Without a meter, you'll need a lot of patience. The digibox can take up to a second to respond to any movements you make.

07d4 is the Transport Stream you need.

Cheers. Tried it once more and lo and behold I got the astra 2 working fine.

Two issues though:

a) I've added the 8 bbc and itv channels to other channels but is there a way of adding these to the epg so that they are accesible without going through the menu again to other channels (i.e. putting it in the favourites menu with the rest?)

b) I bough the sky box on adverts.ie with a ftv card for channels 4,5 sky 3 etc but none of these seem to be working on it (c4 and sky3 are on the epg and tell me I need to subscribe, channel 5 isn't) Have I been sold a pup or is there a way to verify if it is a ftv card at all. I obviously purchased in good faith.

Well I 'll deal with the second issue first. Its quite possible that the card has just lost its latest keys. The only way you will know this for sure is to leave it in the box for 24 hours and it should update itself.

With regards to your other channels question, if you are using the the FTV card you should have the UK epg up at all times so therefore you wont be needing to access the other channels section.
