It has been many a year since Donnie Darko and now we finally have Richard Kelly's follow up.
It did get pretty awful reviews at Cannes '06, but since then it has been through months of re-editing to cut it down from it's initial 28 hour running time (exaggerated).

It certaintly looks like it will be interesting to watch, whether in a good or bad way. Weirdest cast ever, but the trailer has some good atmosphere (love the use of Wave of Mutilation), and it thankfully looks just as odd as Donnie was.

Anyway, this really is one film that is hard to make a call on until you actually see the damn thing, but I for one expect a Fountain-esque splitting of opinion - this will either be an imaginative masterpiece or pretentious horse manure, depending on who you talk to.

You can see that the people who cut the trailer definitely don't know what it's about anyways. :P

I REALLY hope this is great cause Donnie Darko is easily my favourite film of recent time. Don't let me down now Kelly

Yeah, this is a real tricky one for me to actually say.

I'm a huge fan of Kelly and have been following him avidly since Darko and have read loads and loads about 'Southland Tales'. I have ignored the critics who slammed it at Cannes and have been anxiously awaiting any real footage but this.. this looks absolutely horrible!

It looks odd for the sake of being odd.. visually exciting but that's it. I never thought i'd say it about it but it does not look good at all.

And casting The Rock as the star... what was he thinking?

IMDb lists a 7th December release date for the UK, so i'm guessing the same weekend!
