Planning Permission Advice Pls! (Fingal area)

    Hi guys,

Would welcome advice on the planning permission process by anyone who gone through the process & come out alive at the other end!

Here is my situation: myself & hubby are hoping to apply for planning in Fingal area, we have managed to secure a site adjacent to family land and we are applying for permission under the requirement to be close to family, essential family ties etc . I have therefore lived in family area most of my life (26 yrs).

We bought a house a couple of years ago just outside the Fingal area and my question is whether to:

    (1) Be very honest & declare that we now live in the house we bought – possibly making our case weaker for being granted permission, or

    (2) Declare current house as an investment house & state that we have always lived in family home (aka where the site is) – small white lie, which planners might pick up on & look more into or possibly reject us on? or

    (3) Big wammy – say absolutely nothing about current house & clam that we never owned another property & have always lived at family address !!! It would be lying, could invalidate planning if granted ! but on the other hand what are the chances of them finding out, why would they even be suspicious in fact ??? but it is risky !!

Has anyone ever done this ? Has anyone come up against the same issue when applying under ‘family ties’ or am I looking into it too much ?

Once again I have to point out that we dont condone the flaunting of the planning laws on this forum and therefore debate on that topic is taboo. Im locking this for now and I will talk this over tomorrow with smashey. We really do need to draw a line in the sand on topics like this.

Have you changed your mind about moving to Cork?
