Getting to Airport for 8am flight

I'm flying out of Dublin at 8am Saturday, and trying to figure out if it's doable by public transport to get their for say 6.45 in order to check-in?
Would driving to say Drumcondra and leaving the car there for the day and taxing/busing it out just after six make any sense?
How easy would it be to hail a taxi in Drumcondra at 6am?
Good plan, or mad plan folks?
Or how easy is it to find parking space close to airport that early on Sat morn
(Don't want to have to get up too early:D ).
Reason I need car is I have to scoot off back down the country that night upon my return..

Pay for parking. €7.50 or €8 a day in longterm will be cheaper than getting a taxi from Drumcondra.

Thanks for that, just had a look at the long term parking on the website.
How often are the buses from terminal to car park?
If I had an 8am flight I'd want to be hitting the car park at 6.15ish..right?

Give yourself at least an extra 30 mins to use the long term ( 45 mins if it's the crazy blue carpark in Finglas )

The airport will be very very busy at that time in the morning , I would plan to be at the terminal no later than 90 mins before t/o. I have queued 1 hr before to just drop my baggage off at the EI desks. Then you have security , and walking to the gate etc.

So I would try to get to the LT car park around 6.

Having tried them all and cursed each one in turn, I would recommend the Bewley's Hotel Carpark.

No crowding, no hassle and regular bus service. You don't have to stay in the hotel to avail of the parking and it is "only" €7.

The quick park I would recommend also is very close to the airport. I usually use the Aer Rianta ones but never again after using this. I lost my partking ticket on the way back and they just asked me to show my flight documents for my outbound flight when I got back and didnt charge me extra for loosing my tickets take a look its closer than most of the DAA's own car parks as the ones beside the airport are always closed http://www.quickpark.ie/

i second this, the hotels have started to click there is money to be made and have better prices (and service).

I use Bewley's too, and found it a great facility.

Used to use quickpark - however it can be hit and miss as to whether there's any space in it these days, it gets full regularly (and you can't book online anymore like you used to).
