GF is moving in. She has Sky in sitting room and bedroom and so have I. Want to set up one of her Sky boxes in the attic, any one done this before? Do I have to get Sky installer out to do or does anyone know anyone else who could do this and how much would it be...thanks

Firstly you will require power in the attic. Then you can plug in your sky box and run a coax preferably CT100 from the dish or (RG6 cabling grade) to the input of the sky box.

Next you need to decide how many rooms you want to be able to view the box in. IF you only want to view it in one room run a coax from the output marked RF2 to the required room, and place a device called a magic eye on the end to enable you to change channel in the specific room.

If you want to be able to watch it in a number of rooms you will require either an amp...preferably a DC compatible amplifer which will allow you to change the box in more than one room.

You will also require to enable the power on the box in order for the magic eye to run. Do this by the following method

    Services
    Option 4
press 0 followed by 1 then select
    Select option 4 (Rf outlet)
Enable power on and specify the freq to what u require.

Tune in tvs in room. You can also put in a terrestrial aerial and pass it thought the sky box

Final word of taught you will only get mono sound on any tv by using this method..

If the attic is not converted its the last place you should put a sky box, you will seriously reduce its life span.
