    Hello,

I desperately need some help buying some new drum shells.

I have about 2200euro to spend on some new shells and a snare.

I play in a heavy death metal band ( influences Cryptopsy, Cannibal Corpse, Death etc...) so two bass drums would be nice.
But I also play rock ( Faith no more, Alice in Chains etc...) and some old progressive stuff (Rush, Camel, King Crimson Etc..) and a whole other bunch of stuff.

I'd like an aluminum snare for that real poppy/harsh sound. I don't care on the material used on the shells as long as its versatile for different sounds.
Two toms and a floor tom is a necessity

I've been thinking along the lines of pearl masters but I'm not sure how much I cab afford it. I've heard some Sonors and liked the sound but no one I know has owned one.

Any ideas or any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

OK so a kit for 2200 incl a snare drum, tho only bad thing about 2nd abss drum for the pearl masters is it does cost quite a bit,ive checked it out in music maker and its a fair bit,i got quoted a good deal in there before on a pearl session, with extra bass drum 3 rack toms and a floor tom,1 rack tom was a 14 so u could use it as a floor tom,ok so its a pearl session birch sbx and it came in at around 2400, i know its a little bit over your budget but if u buy it off the net its gona be a bit cheaper!i pearsonally have the pearl ex 7 piece,2 bass drums dats goin for 1500 or there abouts in music maker with the joey jordisson snare which i highly recommen if u wanna play metal,i play metal and i have 1 and its unreal how it sounds through a p.a,also andols from chimaira played live with it!its 13x6.5 so it feels small to play but its f**kin sick!

You didn't mention anything about cymbals, but a friend of mine has just started a company importing cymbals for sale to the general public. Drop me a PM if you want his contact details; I won't post them here without his permission! :)

instead of two bass drums buy a double bass pedal. It saves in terms of tuning and is easier to transport. and unless your playing in a stadium two bass drums will make you look like a tit lol.

try axis pedals or pearl eliminators. iron cobra's are good too.
