It's a bit old, but I don't see mention of it, so just saying that S2's 'Girl in the Fireplace' won the Hugo for Best Short Dramatic Presentation at this year's prestigious Hugo awards at the beginning of the month.

It also won in 2006 for 'The Empty Child'/'The Doctor Dances' - two Hugos for Moffat and wouldn't surprise me if he picks one up in a year's time for 'Human Nature'.

I thought Cornell did "Human Nature" and Moffat did "Blink"?

Glad to see the show getting an award for one of its good episodes and not for farting and running at the same time.

Glad to hear that that episode won an award, it lingered in my memory for a long time.

Yep. I meant to write that the show could easily win again next year for that 2-parter or indeed "Blink".

Well deserved, the Girl in the Fireplace is one of the episodes I watch over and over again, absolutley brilliantly written

Mickey 'whatsa horse doin on a spaceship?'
Doctor ' Get some Perspective Mickey, whats preRevolutionary France doing on a spaceship?'

The Girl in the Fireplace was the first episode of Doctor Who I'd ever seen.
